electromagnetic spectrum

Postby Samantha Loc 1B » Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:10 pm

Can someone please provide a concise summary of the main aspects of the electromagnetic spectrum we should memorize for the midterm? I'm just not sure how much depth we should be memorizing it with (eg. should we be memorizing down to the exact wavelengths and frequencies of each type of radiation?).

There's no way he wants us to memorize the frequencies of certain radiation (that would be too much detail and the numbers are pretty random). I could see us needing to know that the visible light spectrum is 400-700 nm. I'm going to memorize the order of increasing/decreasing wavelength for the types of light (radio waves are the longest while gamma rays are the shortest), but I'm not memorizing the specific wavelengths.
