Midterm 1 Radiation Characteristics

Postby Natalie Swerdlow 3K » Thu Oct 21, 2021 10:48 pm

Hi,
On question 1A.9 on the practice problems it asks to "Complete the following table and match each type of radiation to the appropriate event" after giving frequencies and wavelengths and the energy of the photon, some of which you have to calculate. Should we know how to match each type of radiation with an event, for example, that the wavelength of 340 nm corresponds with suntanning?

We probably just need to know the general range of the spectrum, such as visible light being from ~400-700 nm. And as long as you know that below 400 is UV light and above 700 is Infrared, then you should be good. (I would recommend trying your best to remember as much as possible in relation to size of wavelengths)
