Electromagnetic spectrum memorization

Postby 405745446 » Sat Dec 04, 2021 9:02 pm

Hi,
What are some techniques or ways to remember the order of the types of radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum?

My high school chem class taught me the pneumonic Raging Martians Invaded Venus Using X-ray Guns (radio waves, microwaves, infrared light, visible light, ultraviolet light, x-rays, and gamma rays). That's what helped me memorize the spectrum!

Another cute mnemonic to memorize the EM spectrum is: Real Monkeys Insist Very Useful X-mas Gifts, where it starts out with the least energy/shortest frequency/longest wavelength and it ends with the most energy/most frequency/shortest wavelength.

all forms of the EM spectrum/radiation travel at the same speed (the speed of light)
