Anodes and Cathodes

Anodes and Cathodes

If we have to draw a cell diagram or at least the short hand of a voltaic cell diagram on the exam, do/should we always draw the anode to the left and the cathode to the right?

I don't know that it's all that important, but I do think it was mentioned in lecture that the anode is drawn on the left. To be safe, I would draw the anode on the left, the cathode on the right.
