Galvanic vs electrolytic cells?

Postby Andrew Ghaly 3H » Thu Feb 11, 2016 3:27 pm

What exactly is the difference between galvanic and electrolytic cells? I know both have salt bridges, anodes, cathodes, and electrons flow from one to the other

Galvanic cells use chemical energy to produce electrical energy, while electrolytic cells use electrical energy to produce chemical energy. Galvanic is spontaneous while electrolytic is non-spontaneous.
