### Homework #11 Part D

Write the half-reactions and the balanced equation for the cell reaction for each of the follow galvanic cells:

$Pt(s)\left | O_{2}(g) \right |H^{+}(aq)\left \| OH^{-}(aq)\left | O_{2} (g)\right |Pt(s)$

How would you approach this problem, given that the substances on the cathode side are different from each other (OH- and O2) and the substances on the anode side are different from each other (O2 and H+)?

Hi Michelle,

Tricky question indeed. A hint might be that you need to use H2O to balance both the reduction and oxidation half-reactions.
