In this problem it says the reduction potential of water is -0.42V, is this somewhere in the appendix or are we just supposed to have this memorized?

Yes it's in the appendix but for some reason, the appendix value is different. Maybe the pH influences the standard E, not very sure. I have the same question as well.

The values are given to you for pH=7 at the beginning of the problem set!
