What other elements could be used besides Pt?

Or is Pt the only one you could use, assuming there's no solid in the cell and you need a solid?

Carbon in graphite form can be used as well.

I believe Pt is the most common metal to be used.

Pt is so commonly used because it is an inert metal and does not participate in redox reactions under normal conditions.

It usually specifies whether platinum or graphite is used, but both serve the same purpose. However, a Pt(s) electrode is more commonly used.
