14.17-how to write equation

Postby sofiakavanaugh » Thu Mar 15, 2018 8:00 pm

Potassium permanganate and iron (II) chloride in acidic solution

I am confused on how to write the reaction for this. How do you know which ions to keep in your equation when they disassociate in water and which ones not to include?

Thanks

I had trouble identiying the elements in the half reactions as well, but as a quick solution, I think it's best to refer to the table of half reactions since this is a more complicated reaction. The half reactions will most likely be given on the final since they were also given on the tests. Hope this helps with solving the problem!
