Pt electrode

Postby Sophie Krylova 2J » Sun Mar 18, 2018 8:48 am

When do we add the platinum/graphite electrodes? (besides the hydrogen reaction) And if you add it, do you always add it to both sides of the cell diagram?

You add it when there is no solid on that side of the cell diagram. So if there is already a solid then you don't add it.

You also add Pt when there is a solid that cannot conduct electricity (e.g. halogen)
