Electrode Potential

Postby Chase Yonamine 1J » Fri Feb 22, 2019 10:32 am

Why is electrode potential an intensive property and how will this affect the way we calculate it?

The reaction will theoretically create the same voltage at all times, this just means that it is always the same so there is no difference in how we calculate it

Electrode potential is an intensive property because voltage difference is the same and does not depend on how many times the reaction will occur. Even if the half reactions are multiplied by an integer, it won't affect the value of the electrode potential for the reaction.
