Cell diagrams

Postby Nico Edgar 4L » Mon Feb 25, 2019 2:04 pm

How do we know how to order the components of a cell diagram? And when do we know if a component is or isn't part of the diagram?

The textbook suggests reactant|product for different phases and Ox,Red for the same phase, although the reactant|product convention is not strictly followed in the textbook. Inert metals should be on the outside. Every species in the reaction should be included explicitly or implicitly. For instance, H+(aq) implies that both H+ and H2O are present in that phase.
