Inert Electrode

Postby Katie Frei 1L » Thu Mar 07, 2019 9:19 pm

Is there another inert electrode you could use in a galvanic cell diagram other than Pt(s) when there is no solid otherwise present in the reaction?

I feel as if there probably is, but Pt(s) is what we've been taught and told to use. So I wouldn't worry about knowing other possible inert electrodes.

There are inert electrodes like mercury, but for the purposes of this class, I am sure platinum is the main one we should be concerned with.
