Adding Pt in 6L5 b)

Postby NatBrown1I » Wed Mar 13, 2019 1:48 pm

Why do you add Pt in 6L5 b) and how do you know if you need to add this in any other cell diagram that you create? Also, why Pt specifically as opposed to any other element?

You need Pt in the cell diagram if there is no solid present, so it can act as an electrode to transfer electrons.

if there is no solid/conductor on either your cathode or anode side of the cell diagram, you need to add platinum
