How is a salt bridge used and what is it used for?

The main function of the salt bridge is to prevent charge build-up. :)

A salt bridge is used to neutralize the two solutions in order to prevent them from becoming too negative or too positive. This way, a current can still be transferred across the wire.

The salt bridge transfers ions to prevent charge build-up and allow e- transfer.

A salt bridge allows ions to go into solutions and it prevents the build-up of charges.
