Voltage and Current

Postby 905373636 » Fri Feb 21, 2020 12:19 pm

How are Voltage and Current related? Will we ever see an ammeter included in diagrams in this class -- will we relate amperes and volts in an equation?

Current is the rate of flow of electric charge. Voltage is the potential difference in charge of two points in an electric field. So essentially the relationship between voltage and current is that voltage causes current in a sense.

A voltage (a potential difference in charge) causes a current. A current is the transfer of electrons from the anode (oxidized) to the cathode (reduced).
