Why do you use 2 for n in the equation DeltaG=-nFE in 6L.1 a?

TWO moles of electrons are being transferred. You can see this in both the oxidation and reduction half reactions.

Write out the half reactions and balance them will help you find the number of electrons transferred in the process and hence n in the formula.
