Electrochemical cells

Postby Andrew F 2L » Sun Feb 23, 2020 7:14 pm

Can someone further explain the meaning of electrochemical cells to me? I only understand that they can bring electric currents through spontaneous rxns. What exactly does this mean? Also have we seen an example of this already?
Thank you!

A galvanic cell is an electrochemical cell that generates an electrical current from a spontaneous reaction. In other words, if the free energy (delta G) of the reaction is negative, then the reaction proceeds in the forward direction.

Does anyone have a good video or link explaining this?
