When do you use Platinum as an inert conductor in cell diagrams?

You use platinum as an electrode to transfer electrons if the half-reaction has no conducting solids in both the reactants and product.

We use platinum when we do not have a conducting solid in the reactants or products, such as when both the reactants and products are in solution (aq) instead of solid.

Platinum won't get oxidized or reduced. The reactants in the electrolyte get oxidized/reduced at the surface of the inert electrode.

Platinum can be used to transfer electrons if there is no other conducting solid.
