A galvanic cell creates electrical energy from the chemical energy that comes from redox reactions occurring in the electrochemical cell. The parts of the galvanic cell include the anode (typically on the left side) and the cathode (typically on the right side). The anode is the site of oxidation and the cathode is the site of reduction. There is also a wire that allows for the flow of electrons from the anode to the cathode. The salt bridge keeps the solutions neutral to allow the transfer of electrons to continue.
A galvanic cell requires no input of energy because the reactions are spontaneous and favorable. Electrons and cations travel from the anode to the cathode producing energy. A galvanic cell, overall, turns chemical energy into electrical energy.
galvanic cells from what i understand are basically like batteries that produce a voltage difference and consist of a cation and anion that produces a transfer of electrons across the cell. the potential of this cell is greatest when little to no current is going thru
