From the learning outcomes, what does it mean that we should understand what is meant by the electrochemical series?

I think the electrochemical series is a sort of list of reactions that allows us to classify elements or molecules in order of their reduction potentials, but outside of this I am not really sure what we need to know.

I believe that this refers to the list of reduction reactions and their potentials that we are provided. By "understanding them" I believe it just means knowing how to read them and use them.

So given a reaction, we should be able to know if it is in its reduction or oxidation form?
