6L 3 part c)

Postby ckilkeary 2G » Tue Mar 03, 2020 10:19 am

In this problem, the galvanic cell given is
Cu (s) | Cu^2+ (aq) || Ce^4+ (aq) , Ce^3+ (aq) | Pt(s)

My question is: is there a reason that they separated Ce^4+ and Ce^3+ with a comma instead of the "|" like in other problems?

They are separated with a comma because they're both in the same phase

They are both aqueous, so it's separated by a comma!
