## Oxidation Potential

### Oxidation Potential

The reduction potential is usually given to us as E°, but if we were even given the oxidation potential would it be the negative value of the reduction potential?

Yes, that is why to find E°(cell) you subtract the anode from the cathode (therefore making the E° value for whatever is being oxidized the opposite sign).

Yes, since the tables given are usually of the standard reduction potentials, to get the standard oxidation potential you simply have to flip the sign.
