For the equation -nFEcell=deltaG, how do we determine n?

n is the number of electrons being lost and gain so you would need to write the balanced half reactions to determine n.

Use the balanced half-equations to determine how many moles of e- are transferred (n).

After you balance the half reactions, you can see how many electrons are being transferred (how many are lost in oxidation and how many are gained in reduction, which will be the same #) - that number = n
