On test 2 there was a question regarding if delta G was greater than, equal to or less than zero for the photosynthesis of glucose, could someone explain why the answer was that delta G <0

I was also wondering this, when I look it up online I see a lot of people say it's non-spontaneous

Re: Gibbs Free energy and photosynthesis
Yeah at first I was thinking it'd be spontaneous because plants photosynthesize "automatically," but then it's also because of the energy of the sun that they are able to do this. Thus I would agree, that this reaction would be non spontaneous.

Re: Gibbs Free energy and photosynthesis
So does the energy of the sun act like a catalyst? Or is it just providing heat to the reaction?
