Ecell Values

Postby Emily Tam 1k » Sat Mar 16, 2019 3:27 am

When multiplying a half-reaction by a certain number to match up with the electrons, do you also multiply the E of the cell? or does the Ecell remain independent on the amount of moles in the reaction

E cell does not become multiplied by any coefficient, it remains the same.

The E cell is never multiplied, only made negative/positive when the direction of the reaction is reversed to display that it is an oxidizing reaction.

The Ecell value never changes and is set, so we do not multiply it by the coefficient we multiply the whole equation by.
