### Wmax

Can you calculate the maximum work without a system being under constant temperature and pressure?

### Re: Wmax

I don’t think so because work is at a maximum for isothermal reversible expansion (constant pressure and temp).

Why is Wmax under electrochemistry and how do we solve for it? sorry I missed Fridays lecture

### Re: Wmax

Wmax is the max work done at constant pressure and temperature and means all free energy is used for work. In an isothermal, reversible expansion Wmax= DeltaG

Its not electrochem. Its just a wrap up of thermo and we began a new unit.
