Delta G
Can someone explain to me what the difference between delta g and delta g naught is? How does this difference change the values in the equation?

Re: Delta G
Delta G naught is Gibb's Free Energy at standard state since the degree mark, naught, indicates substance in standard state

Re: Delta G
also, delta G naught usually refers to the reaction in a laboratory setting, while delta G refers to reactions in a biological setting, like within the body.

Re: Delta G
But how are calculations different for each? and how will we tell when to use delta G or delta G naught in calculations?
Re: Delta G
I believe someone answered the question of when to use which equation really well here:

Re: Delta G
Delta G (not) is the standard state of the Gibbs free energy of a compound, usually at 1atm and 25C (temperature). Delta G by itself depends on the compounds and non-STP conditions.
