What do we do when a a reaction doesn't have a solid?

Use platinum since it is an inert electrode.

Use Pt in your cell diagram if there is no solid present in the reaction!

Use an inert electrode to conduct the electrons when no solid is present in the reaction.

Use an inert electrode. The one they used in class a lot is platinum
