Standard Cell Potential

Postby JaeHoCho1B » Sat Feb 11, 2017 10:28 pm

Hello! For Question 8 for Midterm 2013 pg. 135, the question is about knowing how to read the cell notation. I know how to solve this, but the question doesn't give us the "given standard cell potential." So on a question like a cell notation, will we be given an initial standard cell potential to calculate our total cell potential?

If you need to calculate the cell potential, the standard reduction potentials should be given - if not, one can also calculate the potential using the following equation:

It's safe to assume the reduction potentials will be provided however.
