### log (Q)

Is it always true that when log[Q]<1 the result will be negative and when log[Q]>1 the result will be positive?

The log[Q] itself cannot be negative given the rules of logaritms and neither can Q due the fact that Q represents the concentration of products vs. reactants. So I'm not really sure what you are asking.

I think if you mean that if Q <1 then log[Q] will be negative and that if Q>1 then log [Q] will be positive, and yes that is true.
