## Q and K with the Nernst Equation

$E_{cell} = E_{cell}^{\circ}-\frac{RT}{nF}\ln Q$

### Q and K with the Nernst Equation

In order to find out which way the reaction is proceeding, would we have to find both Q and K? Or is there another way where we are able to determine this?

I think you would need to find both and then from there you can tell which direction the reaction is preceding based on Q's relationship to K.

You would have to know the values of both, but usually K is given and you solve for Q.

I think you would have to find both because you would need to know if they are equal, or if Q is greater than K or if K is greater than Q
