### 6.79 7th edition

The question states: The body functions as a kind of fuel cell that uses oxygen from the air to oxidize glucose:
C6H12O6(aq) + 6O6(g) --> CO2(g) + 6H2O(l)
During normal activity, a person uses the equivalent of about 10MJ of energy a day. Assume that this value represents $\Delta G$
and estimate the average current through your body in the course of a day, assuming that all the energy that we use arises from the reduction of O2 in the glucose oxidation reaction.

First off, isn't the equation given wrong? Shouldn't it be 6O2, not 6O6? Also, shouldn't it be 6CO2?

Furthermore, I really just don't understand how to do this problem. The solution manual solves for I, but I don't even know what I stands for. Please help!

### Re: 6.79 7th edition

I know it's mentioned as one of the hw problems but I wouldn't worry about it. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't put a problem that we wouldn't know how to do entirely.
