### 6N.13 (a)

Calculate the reaction quotient, Q, for the following cell reactions, given the measured values of the cell potential. Balance the chemical equations by using the smallest whole-number coefficients.

E = E° - 0.05916 V/n x logQ
-n(E - E°) / 0.05916 V = logQ
-2(1.33 - 1.52) / 0.05916 = logQ

I keep on getting Q = 2.65 x 10^6 when I do this problem, though the solution manual reads 1 x 10^6. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

### Re: 6N.13 (a)

E= E* - RT/nF ln Q
E = E* - 0.0592/n log Q
0.1=0.1 - 0.0592/12 log Q
0= log Q
Q=1
I think you messed up in calculating your E*, and there should be 12 electrons transferred.
