Nerst Equation
Can someone explain the E naut value and what it defines as? I am just slightly confused.

The E naught value is the standard cell potential of the cell, which is only changed by temperature. The concentrations do not change this value.

In the Nerst equation, the E naught value would be calculated from the list of standard potentials in Appendix 2B. This value can be found by writing out the half reactions, and identifying the anode and the cathode. By using these values, you can calculate the E naught of the cell, which can then be substituted into the Nerst equation. Hope this helps!

You calculate e naught by using the standard potentials of the cell in the half rxns. given
