Textbook problem 6N.23

Postby Darcey Tran 3L » Fri Mar 15, 2024 6:45 pm

Hi!

Part A of textbook problem 6N.23 asks, "Suggest two metals that could be used for the cathodic protection of a titanium pipeline."
How do you approach this question and what is the reasoning behind the answer?

Thanks!

The answer given is Al and Mg since both have a more negative standard potential so it is a stronger reducing agent
