What is a electrolytic cell and what does it do for the cell diagram?

An electrolytic cell is a type of electrochemical cell that uses electrical energy to drive a non-spontaneous chemical reaction. The cell diagram notation for an electrolytic cell typically includes the representation of the anode, cathode, and the direction of electron flow induced by the external power source.

An electrolytic cell is a cell that uses electron flow to induce non-spontaneous chemical reactions. It contains an anode/cathode and electrolyte, the latter of which allows ion flow. Generally, the cell diagram should be Cathode|Electrolyte|Anode.
