Ion-selective electrode

Postby William Lan 2l » Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:13 am

I'm still confused about the function of the ion-selective electrode? what does it do, exactly?

Ion-selective electrodes are just electrodes that measure specific ion concentrations in a solution. Examples include pH meters, K+ meters, Na+ meters, etc.

Any idea how those work though? Does it have something to do with the reduction potentials of different ions?
