Textbook Question 6.61

Postby Ian_Lee_1E » Sat Mar 06, 2021 7:31 am

How is the wording of the exercise suggesting that K+ ions participate in an electrolyte concentration cell reaction?

I am having trouble understanding how we know if a reaction is electrolyte concentration cell reaction and if we need electrodes for the electrolyte concentration cell reaction

The question asks what the potential difference (E) is between the inside and the outside of the cell only based on the K+ ions. The problem also includes information about the concentration of K+ ions inside vs. outside the cell, so from these two pieces of information, you can tell that K+ ions participate in an electrolyte concentration cell reaction.
