Re: pH
A pH meter measures the acidity, or the hydrogen ion activity, in a solution. It determines the pH level, which is from 1 to 14.

Re: pH
The pH meter allows you to calculate the approximate concentration of [H+] in solution, which is helpful for redox reactions, finding equilibrium constants, final concentrations of reactions, etc.

Re: pH
An acidic solution has far more positively charged hydrogen ions in it than an alkaline one, so it has greater potential to produce an electric current in a certain situation—in other words, it's a bit like a battery that can produce a greater voltage. A pH meter takes advantage of this and works like a voltmeter: it measures the voltage produced by the solution whose acidity we're interested in, compares it with the voltage of a known solution, and uses the difference in voltage between them to deduce the difference in pH.

In this sense, is the pH mostly necessary to measure the flow of anions and cations? And is this used as a standard for all sections?

Re: pH
Hello! The pH meter fulfills measuring the acidity and the ion concentration of H+ in a solution. The importance of this is that it is useful in redox reactions and especially finding the overall concentration of a reaction.

Re: pH
pH level measures the amount of hydronium ions within something or determining the strength of the acid. pOH measures the strength of a base and the amount of hydroxide present on a scale of 1-14 for both.

Re: pH
Just from the top of my heat, pH is the measure of the concentration of H+ ions in a solution. Which ranges from 1 to 14. Where 7 is considered neutral.

Re: pH
A pH meter measures the acidity of things, and the scale goes up by multiples of 10. It measures the hydrogen ion concentration, and ranges from 1-14, with 7 being neutral, and anything above 7 basic, and any below 7 acidic.

pH measures the concentration of H+ ions in a solution, through this we can know where it lands on the scale of 1-14

Re: pH
Hello! The pH tells you how acidic or basic a solution is. The lower the number, the more acidic and the higher the number, the more basic.
