Hello,
How can I figure out the overall order of reaction?

Re: Overall order of reaction
Hi, to find the overall order of reaction, we add all the orders (the exponents) in the rate law. For example in k=[A]^2[B]1 the overall order is 3 because we added the exponents (2+1=3), though the first order reaction should not be written with the exponent as anything to the power of 1 is itself.
Re: Overall order of reaction
To determine the overall order of a reaction, you need to add up the individual orders of each reactant in the rate law equation. The overall order of the reaction is the sum of the exponents on the concentration terms in the rate law.
