Favorability

Can kinetics tell you if a reaction is favorable or not? And if so, how?

Thermodynamic analysis is more useful for telling whether a reaction is favorable or not, by if you have a negative delta G. However, thermodynamics does not tell you the speed of a reaction, and this is where kinetics can be useful.

Kinetics is related with the speed of a reaction not the spontaneity. Thermodynamics is the better indicator about whether a reaction is favorable or not.

For favorability, thermodynamics comes in handy; however, kinetics tells you the speed of the reaction not favorability.

Kinetics is used to tell the rate of a reaction, instead you can use thermodynamics to determine if a rxn is favorable.
