Pre-equilibrium vs Steady state approach

Which approach are we most likely going to be tested on, pre-equilibrium or steady state?

Dr. Lavelle said we would only be using the pre-equilibrium approach since it is simpler than the steady-state approach.

We are only using the pre equilibrium method!

I don't believe that we are going to be responsible for knowing the steady-state method.
