Re: EA
I believe they can be interpreted as the same thing, but you might want to be careful because EA could also probably be interpreted as electron affinity.

Re: EA
I agree^^ I think you can interpret them the same but usually the A is at least written as a subscript for Activation Energy , if not also lowercase

Re: EA
I am pretty sure that they mean the same thing in the context of the work we are doing, however, as stated above EA could also mean electron affinity.

Re: EA
They are both the same thing. Different people write it differently, but pretty much the same.

Re: EA
In lecture, Ea is used to denote activation energy. I find the pun made above very amusing however ^

Re: EA
Didn't see much use of EA, so I'm gonna assume they both mean activation energy? I'd rather use Ea because the capital and subscript make it more obvious that it's an energy.

Re: EA
It really depends on the book and class but in our case, they mean the same thing. I would just use Ea though since that is what is primarily used in lecture.

Re: EA
hi i believe they both mean the same. Activation energy is the minimum amount of energy required to initiate a reaction. It is the height of the potential energy barrier between the potential energy minima of the reactants and products.

Re: EA
Hi, I think they are the same but definitely be aware of whether the a is a subscript or not.

Re: EA
I usually see Ea used to represent activation energy, but I'm sure if you see EA in a problem it probably means the same thing. However, as other people mentioned, it could stand for electron affinity.

Re: EA
I suppose they are both referring to the same thing. The smallest quantity of energy necessary to start a reaction is known as activation energy. It is the height of the potential energy barrier between the reactants' and products' potential energy minima.

Re: EA
Ea is used to denote activation energy. I don’t think there is another meaning (in chemistry at least).
