The rate law relates the rate of a reaction to the concentration or pressure of the reactants. The rate of a reaction is proportional to the concentration or pressure of the reactants modified by the reaction order.
The rate of the reaction can be found as the change in concentration of product or reactant over the change in time. The rate law (aka differential rate law) is found using the equation k[R]^n in which n is the order of the reactant, [R] represents the concentration of the reactant, and k is the rate constant that is dependent on temperature.
