To what extent do we need to know third, fourth, or further order reactions? Do we need to know their half life reactions?

I don't believe we need to know the half-life reaction of third or fourth order reaction. But we should be able to tell if it is a third or fourth order reaction based on the experimental data that are given. Hope it helps.

Seeing as it hasn't been covered too in depth in lecture, I would not think we need to know the half lives.

You can derive all of the half life reactions, but since third and fourth order reactions aren't likely, we don't need to know them really.

I think the only thing we would need to know is to be able to identify whether it is a third or fourth order reaction based on initial rates.

Could someone give some examples of a 3rd or 4th order reaction that we might see on a test? I've only seen 1st and 2nd order reactions in the textbook really.
