Proper units

Postby Samantha Joseph 1F » Tue Mar 06, 2018 2:24 pm

Just to clarify, if the problem uses mmol, is it preferred to use mmol or mol in the answer (unless specified)?

Unless the question specifies which unit it wants in the answer, it doesn't matter. However, make sure the units match up with constants in the formula sheet and with K

For problems 17 and 19, it is confusing to know which units to use, but you should probably keep it consistent with what they give you unless you need to convert (eg. seconds to hours).

i shouldn't really matter but sometimes like in problem 15.3 you need the answer to be in moles so you can run further calculations with your answer.

The textbook tends to write the answers in moles

It shouldn't matter what units your answer is in.

It would put it in moles just to be safe but as long as the units cancel out you should be fine
