When 0.52 g of H2 and 0.19 g of I2 are confined to a 750.-mL reaction vessel and heated to 700. K... How come the volume of each is 0.750L. im confused is the total mixture 750ml or or each is 750ml because it says a reaction vessel so wont the total be 750ml? can somebody explain?

Re: 15.13
The total rxn chamber is .750 L and the gasses both occupy this whole volume. This is why we use it as the volume to find the concentration of H2 and I2.

the reaction vessel is 750 mL so use this to find the molarity of H2 and I2 to find moles per liter

Re: 15.13
Both gases are distributed throughout the 0.75 L container, so you use that volume for both H2 and I2.

Re: 15.13
Gases spread to fill the entire container that they're housed in, unlike liquids and solids. So if the volume of the vessel they're in is .75 L, that's their volume.
