$aR \to bP, Rate = -\frac{1}{a} \frac{d[R]}{dt} = \frac{1}{b}\frac{d[P]}{dt}$

### Finding the rate constant of Reaction

Given the instantaneous rate of reaction is 2.54x10^-2 mol/(L*s), and the initial mass of each reactant is 1.2g confined to a 750mL vessel, what ia the rate constant of this reaction?

### Re: Finding the rate constant of Reaction

you would solve for concentration (M= moles/Volume) so do ((grams/g/mol))/Liters). In the problem it should say what order which will decide if you square it or just use that. If it is first order R= k[conc] and second order would be k[con]^2 and then you substitute in values and solve for k.

First solve for concentration, and then if it is second order than square the concentration, then to find k plug in values and solve.
