Calculus Review
Does anyone know which specific differentiation and integration formulas/concepts I should review before we continue on with kinetics?
Re: Calculus Review
I don't think you would need to know calculus for kinetics. Just know what the integral and derivative signs mean when used in the equations.

Re: Calculus Review
Dr. Lavelle posted Math assistance sheets on the website which I feel are indicative of the extent of calculus worth reviewing since he pointed them out today near the end of class.

Re: Calculus Review
From the looks of it on his website its just integration and derivatives it doesn't seem that we need to know anything that complex. With the power rule and basic integration and derivatives rules in mind you should be ok. if you know integration "instantaneous rate" may seem familiar.

Re: Calculus Review
I think we only need to know some of the basic topics covered in Calculus AB (or equivalent)

Re: Calculus Review
Lavelle has a few calculus tips on his website. I doubt he will make us do difficult calc problems but probably just basic ones

Re: Calculus Review
I don't think the final test will involve any actual problems that require difficult calculus. If anything it'll be how to derive equations but usually, he gives those methods during lecture.

Re: Calculus Review
I don't think we actually need them. From what I understood he only did it so you can see how he got the final equations.
